Overview

Responsibilities

Your day will include

  • Project Coordination, and Design
    • Assist with a variety of multi-disciplinary water, wastewater, and civil projects, including:
    • Functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure related to water supply, sewers, treatment, roads, land development site servicing, stormwater management, and waste management
    • Infrastructure conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, technical memorandums, design reports, plans, approvals, contract administration, and site inspections for civil and water/wastewater projects
  • Perform assessments, design calculations, hydraulic reviews, data collection, and data analysis to support engineering activities
  • Participate in the creation of contract drawings, contract specifications, and tender packages
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers, vendors, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants, and subcontractors
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, planners, environmental scientists, and technical support staff)
  • Business Development
    • Contribute to client research, project proposals, and presentations
    • Business travel to other Dillon offices as needed

    • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in New Brunswick or eligible to be licensed within 6 months, with willingness to obtain registrations in other provinces/territories as required
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in the consulting industry preferred
Experience
  • Experience and knowledge of water and wastewater treatment equipment/facilities, pumping stations, and community infrastructure
  • Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers, and watermains
  • Understanding of design and implementation activities including drawing development, reports, tendering, and contract administration
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Civil 3D or Revit is an asset
  • Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with design drawings, contract documents, tendering, construction administration, and commissioning is preferred
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and manage client and regulator relationships
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies for water and wastewater treatment
  • Demonstrated teamwork and coordination abilities; proficient in proposal preparation and presentations
  • Experience with process modeling software such as SUMO is an asset
