Job summary

The City of Brantford is hiring a Distribution & Collection Operator to manage municipal water and wastewater systems. This permanent full-time role includes operating heavy equipment, responding to emergencies, and maintaining assets across three systems with a hybrid work environment.

Candidates should have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, plus a two-year Civil Engineering diploma or related experience.

Qualifications

• Requires OSS Diploma or equivalent and a 2-year Civil Engineering related diploma.
• Experience in water and wastewater construction/operations preferred.
• Must register for MECP Operator in Training in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection; aim for levels 3 and 2 within 8 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain City water distribution, wastewater and stormwater systems.
• Respond to emergencies and standby duties as required.
• Operate heavy equipment (Vactor/Jetter, backhoe, pumps) and perform maintenance.
