Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Canada is hiring a Microbiology Laboratory Technician in Ottawa, Canada. The role focuses on membrane filtration analysis of water, soil, and other substrates, following SOPs and biosafety procedures.

The position is full-time, offering 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, with a hourly CAD salary of 23–25. The successful candidate will prepare stock cultures, maintain instruments, perform data entry in LIMS, and support quality systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with microbiology testing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform membrane filtration analysis of water, soil and other substrates using SOPs.
• Follow Biosafety Manual and Emergency Response Plan.
• Report drinking water adverse results to Drinking Water Coordinator.
• Enter data into the LIMS system.
• Prepare stock cultures and agars.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping and safety.
• Carry out instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Monitor consumables and order supplies.
• Follow Quality Assurance procedures as documented.
• Other duties as assigned.
