Job summary

Geosyntec is seeking a Staff Water Resources Engineer for its Ontario offices (Waterloo, Cambridge, or Guelph). You will model hydrology and hydraulics, analyze diverse projects, and prepare technical reports while engaging in field work and regulatory tasks.

The role emphasizes strong communication, co-op experience, and eligibility for professional engineer licensure in Ontario, with up to 30% fieldwork and up to 10% travel. Base salary ranges reflect Ontario market norms.

Qualifications

  • Prior co-op or internship experience in environmental or civil consulting.
  • Experience with SWMM and HEC-RAS (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligible to be licensed as a professional engineer in Ontario.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Responsibilities

  • Construct hydrologic and hydraulic models for a range of projects including watershed studies and floodplain analyses.
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for diverse water resources projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, designs and data analysis.
  • Prepare technical reports to communicate design intent and findings.
  • Field work including site investigations, monitoring and construction support.
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, auditing, and permitting.
  • Training and mentoring opportunities, including OSHA/safety, and professional development.
  • Fieldwork up to 30% anticipated, with overnight travel up to 10%.
