Job summary

Dillon Consulting Limited is recruiting a Water Resources Designer/Technologist to join our multidisciplinary team across multiple Ontario offices and Vancouver. Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resource Engineering.
  • 0–3 years of relevant work experience in consulting preferred.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM).
  • Familiarity with stormwater management system design, culverts, bridges, sewers, and open channels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local/provincial/federal flood line guidelines is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analyses for surface drainage, open channels, pipes, bridges, and erosion protection.
  • Complete watershed and sub-watershed investigations and hydraulic assessments.
  • Develop stormwater management strategies and detailed designs for land development and municipal projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and assist with project deliverables across scales.
  • Participate in fieldwork, data collection and monitoring programs as required.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports and proposals aligned with project scopes.

Overview

Dillon’s Water Resources Discipline is seeking a Water Resources Designer/Technologist to fill an existing/new vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

This is a new position and is based out of our Windsor, North York, Hamilton, Oakville, Kingston and Vancouveroffice.

Responsibilities

About the Position

Analysis & Design

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analysis and design of surface drainage, dual drainage systems, open channels, closed pipes, bridges, and erosion/scour protection.
  • Complete comprehensive watershed and sub‑watershed scale hydrology investigations and hydraulic assessments.
  • Develop and implement innovative stormwater management strategies and detailed designs to mitigate flooding for land development, municipal servicing, and transportation projects.

Project Coordination & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and assist Project Managers and engineering leads with water resources deliverables across various project scales.
  • Participate in fieldwork, including field inspections, reconnaissance, data collection, and monitoring programs as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports and proposals by organizing data and drafting content aligned with project scopes.

Business Development & Innovation

  • Contribute to business development activities, client need research, and proposal preparation.
  • Support artificial intelligence initiatives within the Water Resources discipline.
  • Travel to other Dillon offices upon request.

Qualifications
  • A degree or diploma in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resource Engineering
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant work experience in the consulting industry preferred
  • Familiarity with professional hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as HEC‑RAS, InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with the detailed design of stormwater management systems, culverts, bridges, sewers, and open channels.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Familiarity with local, provincial, and municipal regulations, policies, guidelines, and environmental permitting requirements (knowledge of federal and provincial flood line mapping guidelines is a strong asset).
Experience

Compensation$50,000 - $70,000At Dillon, we believe in transparency. The following salary range is what we expect to offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
