Incumbents in this position maintain and repair Water Division production and distribution systems, equipment and grounds for the purposes of maintaining the City’s water distribution system. Duties include: cutting, caulking and replacing pipes; excavating; operating pumps, trucks, tractors, and mowers; pavement breaking; pouring concrete; replacing asphalt and cleaning water settling basins.
Two years of experience in construction. Qualifying experience must indicate skill and experience in the use of tools and equipment such as basic hand tools, engine driven pumps, power saws, jack hammers, air compressors and related construction equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. Only qualified applicants who provide proof of a valid driver’s license will be considered for this position.
Preferences: Experience in water or sewer line construction; CDL licensure is preferred.
