Job summary

Gillfor Distribution is seeking a Warehouse Worker / Order Picker to join our Dartmouth Distribution Centre in Nova Scotia. This full-time position involves assembling customer orders, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining a safe, organized yard under supervision of the Shipping Supervisor.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, forklift training (an asset), at least two years warehouse experience, ability to lift up to 80 pounds, and flexibility with shifts.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload building materials safely and timely.
• Assemble and prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery.
• Assist loading orders onto customer trucks.
• Receive incoming freight and inspect for damage.
• Maintain tidy, organized lumber yard and warehouse.
• Operate forklift to move materials and load trucks.
• Perform quarterly inventory counts and spot checks.

Gillfor Distribution is seeking an existing position of a Warehouse Worker /Order picker to join our branch in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. As part of our Lumber Yard team at our Dartmouth Distribution Centre, you will work in a team environment reporting directly to our Shipping Supervisor. You will be responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling customer orders, serving customers in the yard, maintaining the presentation and organization of warehouse materials and loading customer trucks.This is a full-time position at our Dartmouth location.

Expectations:

• Loading and unloading of building materials in a safe and timely manner
• Assist in loading orders onto customer trucks
• Receiving incoming freight
• Periodic inventory counts (quarterly) and spot checks
• Assist in keeping a tidy and organized lumber yard and warehouse
• Compliance with all work safety rules and regulations
• Politeness and professionalism with all customers and truck drivers
• Serve customers as they enter the yard following proper process and protocols
• Load and unload building materials operating a forklift
• Prepare, pick and pack customer orders as required in a timely, detail-oriented manner

Ideal Attributes:

• High School Diploma
• Forklift Training and Experience is an asset
• Minimum of two years warehouse experience is a definite asset
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds if necessary
• Able to work in outdoor conditions
• Flexibility with start and finish times
• Reliable and punctual
• Self-motivated and able to work with little to no supervision
