Job summary

UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a part-time, permanent Warehouse Worker/Sorter at 12424 Dixie Road Caledon, ON L7C 2L8. Workdays are Tuesday to Saturday with a 3–5 hour shift from 3:30 AM to 9:30 AM, starting at $18.50 per hour and progressing within the Union Collective Agreement.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, following established handling methods, and sorting stock by postal codes. Benefits and opportunities for advancement are provided by UPS.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (35 kg) without assistance.
• Full availability to work Tuesday to Saturday (5 days).
• Ability to read and memorize postal codes.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Warehouse experience is an asset.

Position Summary:

The Package Handler’s position is a physical fast-paced and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers.

Job Type: Part-Time - Permanent

Work Location: 12424 Dixie Road Caledon ON L7C 2L8

Workdays: Tuesday to Saturday

Shift Duration: 3-5 hours per day *(Flexibility is required with both the start and finish times).

Shift Schedule: (subject to change)

Tuesday - 3:30AM to 9:30AM

Wednesday - 3:30AM to 9:30AM

Thursday - 3:30AM to 9:30AM

Friday - 3:30AM to 9:30AM

Saturday - 3:30AM to 9:30AM

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers
• Learn and properly execute company-established package handling methods
• Sort and stock packages based on postal codes

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (35kg) without assistance
• Full availability to work Monday to Friday (all five days of the week)
• Ability to read and memorize postal codes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles and staying longer than the usual shift hours depending on the operational needs and shipment volume
• Warehouse experience (would be considered an asset)

Compensation and Benefits:

• $18.50/hr. / automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement.
• Unionized position with automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement (top rate of $36.53/hr. after 48 months of service
• Tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per semester (subject to eligibility, program approval, and satisfactory academic performance)

Expenses:

• Monthly union dues (approximately $43/month)
• A union initiation fee of $50 (will be deducted after completing 90 working days with UPS)
• A criminal background check fee of $20.50 (will be deducted from your Day-1 Orientation pay and reimbursed after 90 working days with UPS)
