About The Role

Through a positive attitude and work ethic, contributing to the safe and profitable operation of the packaging and conveying equipment, ensuring cleaned grain meets the shipping schedule specifications and that the shipment is as high as possible for each commodity. Also, accountable for prevention of loss of product and value through diligent setting up of machines and being highly committed to spill management.

  • Complete Packing/Shipping schedule as assigned.
  • Minimize Product loss or Damage and Spills.
  • Safe Operation and Maintenance of all Warehouse Equipment.
  • Consistent completion of quality checks during bagging and loading of rail cars and containers ensuring the sales contract specifications are being met.
  • Ensuring that the packing/shipping is represented as a strong link and makes a strong contribution to the satisfaction of customers and productivity.
  • Completing regular production reports to the General Manager, Plant Operations Manager.
  • Identify and report productivity, safety and overall operational problems.
  • Participate in annual, internal product grading skill and knowledge testing for all the commodities for plant site.
  • Ensure that the shipping and bagging areas are swept and cleaned on a daily basis and that all spills are cleaned up as they occur or prior to any switchover. Ensure that the areas are left clean at the end of every shift.
  • All other tasks assigned by Manager / Supervisor.
About You
  • Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Physical capacity to work in a dusty, loud, industrial environment
  • Knowledge of or experience in working in a safe manner
  • Knowledge of agriculture industry is an asset
