Job summary

JBS Food Canada Inc. in Brooks, AB is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations at the Brooks facility.

The role focuses on planning manpower, inventory control, safety and continuous improvement to meet domestic and international product specifications. You'll manage hourly employees, drive KPI-based process improvements, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of warehouse supervisory work experience.
  • Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
  • Self-starter with good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Completion of College Diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Flexible to work shifts.
  • Cold and Hot Area.
  • Attention to Details.
  • Work Under Pressure
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Health & Safety concerns and GMP
  • Previous experience in a food processing industry is required.
  • Excellent English Oral and Written Communication; Team Player
  • Criminal Record Check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and schedules manpower, materials, product and machines to effectively utilize departmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage daily production inventory and meet required product specifications for both domestic and international customers.
  • Manages employee performance, providing positive and/or corrective feedback.
  • Direct hourly unionized employees for the efficient operation of the facility.
  • Promotes department and company goodwill through proactive employee communication and involvement.
  • Identify and facilitate process improvements and cost savings opportunities aligned with KPI and business objectives.
  • Document and maintain accurate records regarding employee performance, product quality, daily reconciliation, health and safety, and payroll.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and provide step by step guidance to production team members.
  • Develop, lead and coach employees through training and recognition.
  • Maintain the Company's safety program evidenced by an exemplary safety record and due diligence documentation.
  • Active involvement and leadership in Continuous Improvement Program to achieve productivity improvements and waste reduction.
  • Coordinate the team to properly organize the sequence of scheduled orders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain documentation regarding products and/or hazardous materials and expiry dates.
  • Place daily and weekly orders, ensuring par levels are maintained based on consumption.
  • Track product usage, waste, and yields against requisition requirements.
  • Conduct inventory counts.
  • Provide confirmations to customers and the accounting team after product receipt.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Plans and schedules manpower, materials, product and machines to most effectively and efficiently utilize departmental policies and procedures fairly and equitably to maintain standards established for safety, quality and overall company personnel satisfaction.
  • Manage daily production inventory and meet required product specifications for both domestic and international customers.
  • Manages employee performance, providing positive and/or corrective feedback.
  • Direct hourly unionized employees for the efficient operation of the facility.
  • Promotes department and company goodwill through pro-active employee communication and employee involvement.
  • Identify and facilitate the implementation of process improvements and cost savings opportunities aligned with system utilization goals (KPI’s) and key business objectives.
  • Document and maintain accurate records with respect to employee performance, product quality, daily reconciliation, health and safety, and payroll.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and provide step by step guidance to production team members to ensure best in class processes are implemented consistently across the organization.
  • Develop, lead and coach employees through effective training and recognition.
  • Effective implementation and maintenance of the Company's safety program evidenced by an exemplary safety record and due diligence documentation. Utilize best practices in safety leadership (orientation, training, observation, correction, positive reinforcement).
  • Active involvement and leadership in the Continuous Improvement Program to achieve productivity improvements and waste reduction.
  • Coordinate the team to properly organize the sequence of scheduled orders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding products and/or hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including logs and expiry dates, using approved forms.
  • Place daily and weekly orders, ensuring par levels are maintained based on consumption.
  • Track product usage, waste, and yields against requisition requirements.
  • Conduct inventory counts.
  • Provide confirmations to customers and the accounting team after product receipt.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
