Job summary

Marshall Land Systems in Moncton, NB is hiring a Warehouse Operative to join our team. You will ensure accurate tracking and control of inventory, with timely documentation of materials shipped and received, supporting production by creating production kits and participating in cycle counts.

Reporting to the Purchasing Shared Service Manager, you will maintain stock levels, handle shipping/logistics admin, and may work shifts or overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores environment within manufacturing or defense is preferred.
• Forklift qualification is an asset.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities are required.
• Proficiency with ERP and Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate transactions and records for shipping and receiving.
• Create accurate inventory kits per BoM and production schedule.
• Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Manage local store stock levels and daily stores operations.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives in warehouse processes.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety policies.

Description

Marshall Land Systems requires a Warehouse Operative in Moncton, NB to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Purchasing Shared Service, this role is responsible for ensuring the accurate tracking and control of inventory within the manufacturing facility, as well as the timely and accurate documentation of all materials shipped and received.

The position also supports production activities through the creation of production kits and participates in regular cycle counts to maintain ongoing inventory accuracy.

Your responsibilities in this role:

• Maintaining accurate transactions and records of the shipping and receiving of incoming and outgoing material.


• Creating accurate inventory kits according to established BoM’s and production schedule.


• Completing cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.


• Take a proactive approach to the daily stores operation.


• Maintain and report local store stock levels.


• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities within the warehouse environment and make suggestions for improvement.


• Ensure all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company's procedures and requirements.


• Ensure security of the warehouse environment and maintain access control.


• Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.


• Investigate inventory deviations.


• Provide Shipping & Logistics administrative support within Deployable Infrastructures teams.


• Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts and overtime, when required.


• Other duties as assigned.

• Demonstrable experience in stores environment within manufacturing or defense.


• Forklift qualification an asset.


• Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification, preferred.


• Computer literate with good numeric skills.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to establish logical practical solutions.


• Accuracy and a keen attention to detail.


• A strong communicator, able to work well in a team.


• Experience of inputting and using business systems e.g. ERP. Excellent MS Excel Skills.


• Experience of international shipping, logistics or freight forwarding gained within a busy and challenging business environment.


• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban and SMED, preferred.


• Military Occupational Structure Identification – 00168 Supply Technician encouraged to apply.


• Must be eligible to meet requirements of export control and security regulations including Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearances.
