Overview

WEG Electric Corp is hiring for a Warehouse Manager in Ontario, CA. This role leads a team of three supervisors and thirty employees at our national headquarters, where we operate a 200,000 sq ft warehouse. The distribution center manages an inventory worth $45 million, with an average of four inventory turns per year. The main objective of this role is to ensure that all processes are executed efficiently and effectively, with the ultimate aim of delivering the best possible customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Establish operational procedures for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, managing materials, and keeping track of the warehouse inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and enforce safety and health standards in the work environment.
  • Achieve and maintain productivity targets.
  • Provide input to the Senior Manager to develop operating plans for warehouse and transportation operations that support facility, equipment, and staff organizational goals.
  • Identify the financial resources required to support the operating plan and provide cost justification for departmental spending. Participate with the Senior Manager in the development of department operating budgets.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvement to the Senior Manager and implement action plans to improve departmental processes.
  • Conduct routine analysis of departmental functions, processes, asset utilization (equipment, resources, and labor), and communicate the results to the Senior Manager.
  • Manage the performance of Supervisors and hourly associates. Recognize, train, coach, counsel, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Make decisions and take actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience to achieve the planned results.
  • Manage Shipping TL and LTL, Inbound and Outbound International shipments.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related discipline.

Experience
  • The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a warehousing or distribution management environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing distribution facilities, specifically developing and implementing standard operating processes and procedures.
  • Solid experience in order picking, shipping, receiving, outbound product loading, and unloading.
  • Previous experience working with products on racking, bulk storage, and cycle counting is required.
  • A strong knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and warehouse best practices is essential.
