Job description

Aston Carter's client is seeking a Warehouse Manager to join their team. The Warehouse Manager will lead and manage all warehouse-related activities (receiving, kitting, shipping/logistics, and warehouse management) for the business to meet stakeholders' expectations and enable growth in the business. They will play a key role in creating a vision to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long-term strategic objectives.

TOP 5 DUTIES
  • Review team schedule, coordinate with SC manager, Check in with team
  • Review order timelines and coordinate with charge/lead hands to manage team activities
  • Collaborate with team across shipping/inventory functions to ensure smooth flow of operations
  • Manage inventory cycle counts annually with team
  • Train, develop, and hold team accountable to KPIs and standards through daily meetings and reporting
OTHER DUTIES
  • Drive the culture of zero safety incident for the department and the business.
  • Develop and align the department around the business' KPI’s to achieve the AOP targets.
  • Provide effective leadership, coaching, and training to department leaders.
  • Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives through RBS to improve the department KPI’s.
  • Maintain and improve daily productivity statistics, including but not limited to inventory target, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, E&O level, shipping count, receiving count, and kitting counts.
  • Organize and lead the annual physical inventory count and corrective actions.
  • Communicate critical department metrics to relevant business personnel.
  • Be the central point of contact for all department related inquiries.
  • Identify, recruit, and retain top talents to create a strong employee culture and engagement.
MUST HAVE
  • 5+ years within warehouse experience including material handling + shipping/receiving + inventory mgmt.
  • 3+ years managing a team of 20 or more
  • 2+ years within manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean Continuous Improvement (CI) tools: 5S, Standard work, visual management, and problem solving
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Stable employment- average 2-3 years per role.
  • Software: MS Office (basic - comfortable with Excel), SAP experience
  • Experience with Bill of Material (BOM) and managing On time Delivery and Inventory on Hand
  • BOM Experience - must be complex processes managing inventory, from engineering teams and putting together kits/kitting
SOFT SKILLS
  • Strong leadership experience - leads by example/from the front
  • Change management experience - can gold teams accountable to expectations
  • Strong people/performance management experience - can work with various personalities and coach through individual struggles
  • Similarly, examples of managing low performers and holding team accountable to KPIs
  • High level communication and team work ability - can manage a large team while also working with multiple dept. leaders to meet operational demands
  • Ownership mentality - engaged in the work they do and takes personal ownership for driving results within their team

  • Any Six Sigma experience/certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • M-F, 7am - 4pm (flexible - 30-60m lunch unpaid)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
