Job summary

A construction supply company in Calgary is seeking a Facility Manager to oversee operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a college certificate or diploma and experience directing commercial facilities. Responsibilities include managing budgets, training staff, and maintaining equipment. This is a permanent position with working hours of 32 to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and control the operations of commercial facilities.
  • Prepare reports and statistics related to areas of responsibility.
  • Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements.
  • Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service.
  • Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Direct the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and systems.
  • Hire and oversee training and supervision of staff.
  • Plan and manage the facility's operations budget.
  • Train customers' staff in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Resolve product and service related problems.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to equipment.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
