Job Summary

Responsible for directing all warehouse operations consistent with all Company warehousing distribution practices, procedures and objectives. This involves directing the safe, accurate and efficient receiving, storage, and shipment of materials in a manner that meets customer service objectives.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Works alongside, and supervises a team of warehouse employees and delivery drivers, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, career development planning, disciplinary actions, and termination.
  • Ensures that all customers (internal and external) are serviced in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Meets customer delivery service goals and delivery schedules by dispatching in-house trucks and/or utilizing third party providers as required. Communicates all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties.
  • Develops and manages preventative maintenance programs for warehouse equipment such as vehicles, forklift trucks, etc. Ensures employees have proper certification and training on equipment including, but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, Interstar color machine, and shrink wrap machine.
  • Maintains strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external demand of product. Coordinates annual physical inventory activities.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable company policies, procedures and guidelines. Develops and/or enforces corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manages the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of the warehouse.
  • Identifies, investigates and addresses all inventory record discrepancies. Maintains appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials.
  • Other duties assigned.
Nature and Scope
  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Work Environment
  • Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
  • No travel required.
Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
