Job summary

A leading entertainment venue in Ottawa is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to manage goods and inventory. The successful candidate will ensure quality control and assist with the delivery of products. Must have a high school diploma and be detail-oriented, with prior warehouse experience preferred. This is a part-time position that requires the ability to lift up to 60lbs and work varied shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Warehouse Assistant will assist with ensuring the accurate receipt and department delivery of all goods and services utilizing the inventory purchasing system. They also verify that the work performed in the receiving space to ensure accuracy of inventory specification and product quality. This position also prepares & maintains related records and reports.

The successful candidate will have a can do attitude who is a team player where no task is too big or too small. They enjoy taking ownership over their work and take pride in their workspace and deadlines.

  • Assist with receipt of products as outlined in the Purchasing Manual.
  • Ensure all goods received meet quality standards and meet the specifications on the Purchase Order. Verify quality standards quantities ordered pack sizes and other various specs are accurate upon delivery.
  • Ensure all goods received are stored in a timely manner and in the correct location.
  • Communicate via email to Purchasing if there are any delivery exceptions.
  • Fulfilment of department requisitions.
  • Preparation of outbound deliveries.
  • Communicate to each department that status of their incoming and outgoing deliveries.
  • Ensure all paperwork is delivered to the Finance department in a timely and organized fashion.
  • Assist with the physical inventory count in coordination with the Accounting Team.
  • Reviewing inventory stock levels with Inventory Supervisor and Purchasing to maintain par levels.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Warehouse experience and asset.
  • Use of Microsoft Office - MS Word and Excel.
  • INFINIUM knowledge considered an asset.
SKILLS
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Interact with employees at all levels and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Must possess ability to follow written or verbal basic instructions.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent work ethic being mature reliable punctual with a positive attitude and enthusiastic behaviour.
  • Work independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Carry or lift up to approximately 60lbs.
  • Ability to walk distances.
  • Maintains a clean safe hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a warehouse setting but there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including but not limited to excessive noise.
  • The employee must frequently lift / push / pull and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment but there will be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including but not limited to excessive noise.
