Job description
WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE
The Opportunity:

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for function and maintenance of the warehouse and reports directly to Warehouse Manager. You are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient shipping, receiving, storage and logistics of all our inventory. It is critical that inventory flows in and out of our facility at the highest velocity possible to increase our margins and lower our retail pricing.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
  • Ensuring that stock sheets are current and maintained.
  • Receiving and ensuring all products ordered have been shipped with good date and in good condition.
  • Maintaining warehouse space and ensuring it is maximized and used to its greatest capacity.
  • Processing invoices/packing slips to record and report mis-picks, shorts, damages and other errors.
  • Maintaining inventory controls.
  • Rotating all product, to ensure when possible, that all products sent to the stores has reasonable dates.
  • Receiving, picking & palletizing the shipment of weekly product order from all stores.
  • Creating and processing invoices for inter-store transfers.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse.
  • Delivering orders between our warehouse and store locations in a safe and timely manner when required.
  • Stock rotation – Rotating stock to ensure items with faster approaching expiry dates are picked first. FIFO principles.
  • Paperwork – assist with receiving and inter-store transfer paperwork (all computer based).
  • Pallet Jack Usage – the ability to use a hand operated pallet jack to move pallets of goods around the warehouse ready for loading into the delivery truck.
  • Stock Counts – Assisting with counting inventory.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience providing excellent customer service
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about local, organic and sustainable food and supplements
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs
  • Beneficial but not required:
    • Ability to drive a 5 ton delivery truck (no air brake course required) on occasion may be asked to drive with product to the Okanagan store locations
    • Ability to operate a forklift (certified forklift operator/or ability to obtain) loading and unloading pallets from supplier trucks as well as hoisting and lowering pallets from warehouse racking system
