Job summary

A caring organization in Edmonton is seeking a Ward Clerk to support the Director of Care with various clerical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a Health Care Aide certificate and strong organizational and communication skills. Qualifications

  • Health Care Aide certificate preferred.
  • Basic clerical / administrative skills required.
  • Pleasant telephone manner with strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills essential.
  • Ability to deal with tight timelines is necessary.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite needed.
  • Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming telephone lines and relay messages.
  • Greet visitors and direct them appropriately.
  • Assist with resident information on lab requisitions.
  • Maintain or assist in maintenance of resident records.
  • Perform filing assignments for the Director of Care.
  • Assist with labeling of residents' belongings.
  • Prepare and post the nursing schedule.
  • Update and maintain the daily schedule.
  • Input changes to staff schedules and present for approval.
  • Carry out various clerical duties and prepare reports.
