About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.

Qualifications:
  • Previous Ward Clerk experience essential. Must be capable of processing physician's orders and preparing and maintaining certain components of patient's medical records.
  • Must be capable of preparing, recording and issuing Ontario Health Cards.
  • Must be proficient at data entry, recent data entry experience with large data base.
  • Must be comfortable accessing and interacting with government data base.
  • Must have good knowledge of nursing unit's admitting and discharge procedures and the other clerical procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the unit.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Knowledge of medical and obstetrical terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the principles of Patient & Family Centred Care.
  • Knowledge of Maternal/Child Services provided in the Community and at the TBRHSC.
  • Computer experience is required, including expertise with Word, Excel and MS Office.
  • Previous experience with gathering and compiling stats.

Salary Range: $28.208 to 28.879
