Job summary

A healthcare organization in Halifax is seeking a Ward Clerk to support the efficient operation of the unit through various clerical duties, data entry, and supply management. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, as well as strong keyboarding and organizational skills. Experience in a similar role and knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. This is a permanent, part-time position with varying hours.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data entry, including database entry; ordering and maintaining supplies; required transport functions; answering phones.

Your Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a recognized Secretarial or Office Administration Diploma Program preferred.
  • Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs, including a word processing program, required.
  • Knowledge of Meditech required.
  • Demonstrated initiative, excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task required.
  • Demonstrated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to work with a wide variety of interdisciplinary team members and families.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset.
