Overview

FT/PT Position: 1 Full-time Permanent Position

Location: Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, ON

Reports To: Director of Operations

Salary: 56,000 – 63,000 Annual

Closing Date: September 19, 2025

Summary: The Wabigoon Lake Community Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations to ensure a safe and profitable operation. The Operations Manager will manage budgets, labor costs, inventory control, product presentation and merchandising, as well as overseeing, coaching, motivating, scheduling, training, and supervision of store employees.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the Store in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with the Assistant Manager.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Enforce daily operating procedures to ensure the store is clean, sanitized, stocked, organized, and well kept.
  • Ensure all equipment and computer systems are operational and nightly backups are performed.
  • Regularly reconcile bank statements, purchase orders, and charge accounts.
  • Perform GST/PST/Ontario Native Fuel Card tracking and remittances.
  • Prepare, assist, and submit all documentation related to the annual audit in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and record cash overages/shortages and inventory daily.
  • Ensure invoices are received, recorded, and paid on time, and bank deposits are made regularly.
  • Complete daily, monthly, and quarterly paperwork, reports, and computer entries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the store operates within financial budgets and provide financial forecasts (Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly).
  • Provide applicable financial information and documents to payroll.
  • Enforce procedures to manage loss prevention and shrinkage.
  • Ensure fuel prices are promptly updated to keep pump, POS system, and sign prices accurate.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and environmental requirements as per federal and provincial laws and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to employees and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all merchandise is stocked, displayed appropriately, safely, and priced accurately.
  • Be willing and able to perform all duties of a Customer Service Representative in times of need.
  • Coordinate any required work by third parties (construction, repairs, network and payment systems, security, and other services).
  • Train, supervise, evaluate, and discipline store employees in accordance with store policies.
  • Review and process all store employee timesheets, request forms, and payroll information.
  • Ensure regular follow-up and communication with vendors.
  • Hold regular staff meetings and attend as required.
  • Attend required pre-employment training and ongoing training as requested.
Qualifications
  • A post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Management or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a managerial role, with experience in customer service, bookkeeping, budgeting, and payroll; retail operations, inventory management, merchandising, marketing, loss prevention, and sound business sense.
  • Must be well versed in the operation of software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, POS, security system, cash registers, debit and credit card readers, and ATM terminals).
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be bondable and able to provide a current Criminal Records Check.
  • Ability to give direction and oversee multiple staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing and able to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and code of ethics.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Must possess a valid G class driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must possess effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, dependable, and able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Must be willing to submit to workplace drug testing.
