Position Overview

The Vice President of Construction provides executive leadership and strategic oversight across major, fast‑paced projects spanning the Institutional, Commercial and Industrial sectors. This role drives operational excellence, ensures project performance, and strengthens alignment across pursuit, preconstruction, and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proven success managing multiple projects ranging from $50M to $500M+ in value.
  • Expert knowledge of construction delivery models including Design‑Build, CM‑at‑Risk, IPD, and Lump Sum.
  • A proven track record of building large‑scale healthcare‑related facilities, industrial and complex commercial projects within the GTA from start to finish – ground up.
  • Large‑scale commercial/institutional interior construction experience is considered an asset.
  • Preference is given to candidates with new construction experience.
  • Define the strategic direction and operational framework for the Construction Division, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and growth objectives.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in large‑scale Institutional, Commercial and Industrial projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Contribute to long‑term business planning and operational forecasting, aligning division performance with overall corporate strategy.
  • Provide executive oversight across all active projects, ensuring delivery excellence in safety, schedule, quality, and budget performance.
  • Offer strategic guidance on complex, high‑risk, and technically demanding projects, leading constructability reviews, logistics planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Promote best practices in innovation, digital integration, and sustainability throughout project execution.
  • Maintain full profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
  • Review budgets, forecasts, and project performance metrics to ensure profitability and cost control.
  • Approve major contract changes, claims settlements, and subcontract awards to safeguard company interests.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Construction‑related designations such as Gold Seal, P.Eng, Leed AP, CEC are all considered an asset.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen with demonstrated P&L management experience.
  • Proficiency with enterprise construction technologies (Procore, MS Suite, etc.).
