About the Position

Visitor Facilities Attendant (Stream 1): Facilities Attendants play a very important role in Jasper National Park. They clean and maintain Parks Canada visitor facilities, buildings, and grounds throughout the park. The right people will work well with others, take pride in their work, and go the extra mile to create memorable experiences for visitors. This dynamic team provides routine cleaning and maintenance duties while also interacting with visitors, answering inquiries, and representing Parks Canada at all times.

Visitor Services Attendant (Stream 2): Campground Attendants welcome visitors, providing information and education about camping in the national park. They handle a wide variety of topics including camping, fees, safety, weather, trails, day‑use areas, wildlife, and park regulations. They work outdoors, clean facilities, provide minor maintenance, conduct facility rounds, collect fees, and maintain accurate financial records. Gate Attendants welcome visitors at the three park gates, sell passes, and provide safety and park information. Prevention and Compliance Attendants direct traffic, interact with visitors, educate the public on park rules, and update live parking capacity information.

Operational Requirements
  • You will be required to wear a Parks Canada uniform and follow the Parks Canada Uniform Policy.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including overtime, weekends, and statutory or provincial/territorial holidays.
  • Work and travel in a variety of terrains and weather conditions while performing duties.
  • Visitor Services and Visitor Facilities Attendants are expected to commute via personal vehicle or transport up to 60 km from Jasper townsite; a commuting allowance is available for distances over 32 km.
Essential Experience (Both Streams)
  • Experience providing cleaning services in facilities such as commercial or institutional environments.
  • Experience providing information and service to the public, including complaint resolution.
Experience (Stream 2 Only – Visitor Services Attendant)
  • Experience identifying hazards and potential risks and taking proactive steps to maintain a safe environment.
  • Experience handling cash, operating point‑of‑sales, and performing cash‑out duties.
Knowledge (Both Streams)
  • Knowledge of how to apply health and safety procedures at the work site.
Abilities (Both Streams)
