CBC New Brunswick is looking for a Videographer to join our newsroom team. This is a full time, permanent position. In this role, you will be a vital part of the CBC NB team, producing visual journalism for our platforms within the scope and time constraints of the local day‑parting schedule.
You will gather, edit, package, and distribute or deliver media for CBC platforms including CBC, GEM, YouTube, digital, streaming, radio, and television. With the creative use of video, still images, graphics and other visual storytelling techniques, you are a specialist in video production who actively contributes creatively to storytelling. You understand video in a way that engages our audience, reaching them where they are and when they need us.
As a forward‑thinking self‑starter, you thrive in the fast‑paced, high‑pressure world of a multi‑platform newsroom. You are just as comfortable working to the tight deadlines of our multiple daily news video deliveries as you are with deliverables on a longer timeline. And you are just as comfortable collaborating with colleagues as you are focusing on independent work. You are a strong problem solver and reliable trouble‑shooter.
In this role, you will ensure that all CBC journalistic standards are met and that our stories are fair, balanced, accurate, impartial, and told with integrity.
You understand the diverse and changing population of New Brunswick, and the importance of reflecting all our communities in our content. You appreciate the range of perspectives that people hold and believe in the importance of giving voice to those perspectives.
You keep current with technologies and industry trends and champion new story treatments and new workflows. You will help create a diverse range of content on our video, digital and social platforms. You’re not afraid to take creative risks, and inspire others to do the same, while producing journalism that matters to our audiences.
