Linus Media Group Inc. is seeking a skilled Video Editor to join our post-production team, supporting content for Linus Tech Tips, ShortCircuit, TechLinked and more.

You will edit narrative-driven videos, assemble sponsor spots, manage assets, and collaborate across writers and departments to deliver upload-ready videos on tight deadlines while preserving brand identity. Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Broadcasting, Communications, Multimedia, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of professional video editing experience in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and Audition.

Responsibilities

  • Edit video content with strong narrative impact to drive viewer retention and engagement.
  • Edit and assemble sponsor spots using B-roll and assets from various sources.
  • Maintain version control and proper asset management throughout the editing process.

A Video Editor at Linus Media Group is responsible for producing engaging, high‑quality video content that supports compelling storytelling and strong audience retention.

Working closely with writers and cross‑functional teams, this role edits narrative‑driven videos, sponsor integrations, and time‑sensitive content while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and meet creative and technical quality standards.

The Video Editor maintains organized project workflows, collaborates effectively throughout the review process, and applies strong technical editing skills to deliver polished, upload‑ready content that aligns with the company's brand and channel identity.

As a Video Editor, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Duties
Content/Projects:
  • Edit video content with strong narrative impact to drive viewer retention and sustain engagement.
  • Edit and assemble sponsor spots, utilizing b-roll, brand-provided assets, and other media from various asset libraries or internal sources for production.
  • Maintain version control and proper asset management throughout the editing process.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Execute rapid turnaround edits for announcements, launches, and time-sensitive content.
  • Ensure all project statuses and data fields are accurate and up to date in the relevant project management and communication tools
  • Track project progress and time spent while communicating potential delays or challenges to the department supervisor
Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with writers and other cross‑departmental teams for feedback and reviews to ensure videos align with each channel’s style and narrative.
  • Participate in review sessions and incorporate feedback from writers and stakeholders professionally and efficiently.
  • Review scripts and guidance to identify story beats, basic story structure, to craft engaging narrative videos specific to our various channels.
  • Engage with and contribute positively to team discussions and creative problem‑solving for projects.
Technical:
  • Incorporate graphics, animations, and other elements to elevate the visual appeal of our videos while maintaining the company’s identity and branding.
  • Perform basic color correction and audio balancing to ensure upload‑ready quality.
  • Navigate and retrieve project files and assets from a local server while maintaining data/folder structure compliance with naming conventions and cross‑department norms.
  • Utilize video editing software (Premiere Pro and other Adobe‑related applications) to log, sync audio and video, including managing multi‑camera setups and refine footage at various editing stages.
  • Prepare projects for review, revision, and final delivery while ensuring technical specifications and deliverables meet platform requirements.
  • Peer review work from other editors, looking for any technical errors or content issues prior to delivery.
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Broadcasting, Communications, Multimedia, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of professional video editing experience, with demonstrated success in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Photoshop, and Audition.
  • Exceptional storytelling and creative judgment, with a keen eye for pacing, visual quality, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards and delivering engaging, on‑brand content.
Compensation:

For this position, the typical hiring salary base range is between $50,000 and $80,000 CAD per year, based on job‑related qualifications such as knowledge, skills and experience, and location. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and additional benefits, which together make up the total compensation package, in line with our company’s philosophy to recognize and reward employee contributions.
