We are currently seeking a Vice President of Construction to lead Troika’s Construction Division.
The Vice President of Construction is a key executive leader responsible for driving strategic oversight and operational excellence across Troika’s Construction division. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role ensures high-performance delivery of residential and commercial projects from pre-construction through to completion and is a critical role in executing the company’s growth strategy.
The VP of Construction will lead the Construction division with full accountability for project execution, risk mitigation, team leadership, and cross-functional alignment to achieve quality, schedule, and budget targets that support Troika’s corporate objectives. This role will also collaborate closely with the Development team during the pre-development phase to deliver value-engineered, constructible solutions that enhance cost-efficiency and accelerate speed-to-market.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Develop and lead the execution strategy for all construction activities aligned with corporate growth plans.
- Collaborate with the Development team during pre-construction to optimize design, constructability, and value engineering.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and operational efficiency across all stages of project delivery.
- Deliver superior financial results through cost control, procurement optimization, and performance tracking.
Team & Culture Building
- Foster a high-performance culture built on trust, ownership, and accountability.
- Mentor and support construction leadership in driving executional excellence, safety, and talent development.
- Promote a values-based leadership approach that enables autonomy and decision-making at all levels.
Project Oversight & Execution
- Ensure successful delivery of construction projects—on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards.
- Oversee risk management, cost control, scheduling, and quality assurance for all active sites.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Investments, Property Management, Operations and Marketing to support integrated execution.
Process & Performance Management
- Lead the implementation and adherence to KPIs and reporting tools that drive transparency and performance across project teams.
- Continuously refine systems and workflows to improve scalability and team productivity.
- Lead advancements in construction methods, procurement strategy, and sustainable building practices.
Organizational Support
- Support the CEO and SLT in long-term planning, capital prioritization, and strategic decision-making.
- Represent the Construction division with external stakeholders including consultants, regulatory bodies, and municipalities.
- Ensure all health, safety, and compliance standards are upheld across sites and operations.
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Proactively identify and pursue new project opportunities in both commercial and residential sectors through industry networking, relationship‑building with developers, consultants, and municipal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop bid strategies, prepare proposals, and participate in presentations to secure new contracts.
- Maintain a pulse on market trends, competitor activity, and regional growth opportunities to support strategic planning and pipeline development.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and strengthen community presence.

Qualifications
- 20+ years of senior leadership experience in construction or integrated project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field; MBA is an asset.
- Track record of delivering large-scale residential and commercial construction projects.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams with a collaborative and empowering leadership style.
- In depth knowledge of Canadian Building codes, municipal permitting processes and WorkSafe safety standards.
