Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) is seeking a highly accomplished legal executive to join our senior leadership team as Vice President, Legal Counsel & Corporate Secretary Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role serves as the organization’s chief legal advisor, providing strategic legal direction, governance oversight, and leadership in managing legal and regulatory risk across all areas of the business.
The Vice President, Legal Counsel & Corporate Secretary will act as the principal liaison between the Board of Directors and executive management, supporting the Board, the Board Chair, and the President in fulfilling their respective governance and fiduciary responsibilities. The incumbent will also promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and sound governance practices throughout the organization and may represent WCLC in significant legal, regulatory, or governance matters.
You may not be very familiar with WCLC, but you’re almost certainly familiar with the products we help bring to players throughout the Prairie Provinces and the North every day; lottery games like LOTTO 6 / 49, SPORT SELECT, and dozens of instant scratch tickets.
WCLC is the non-profit organization authorized to manage, conduct, and operate lotteries – at retail and online – and other gaming-related activities for the governments of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba as well as the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. We work closely with our provincial partners to bring a first-rate lottery experience to our players and meet their changing needs with new technology and tools.
