About the Role

OGI is seeking a Vice President, Actuarial Pricing to join its Montreal office. Reporting to the President of OGI, this executive role will be instrumental in shaping the company’s future, driving profitable growth, and expanding its national presence across seven Canadian branches. The VP will lead pricing and risk management strategies, delivering actionable insights to senior management, collaborating closely with IT, Corporate Actuarial, Reinsurance, and branch leadership teams, and ensuring that all initiatives support the company’s growth objectives, strong underwriting culture, and long‑term financial performance. As a member of the Internal Management Committee, the Vice President, Actuarial Pricing will have a direct voice in strategic decision‑making and play a key role in guiding the organization’s direction at the highest level.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee actuarial pricing across the pan‑Canadian market, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Serve as a key member of the senior management team, contributing to strategic decision‑making and enterprise‑level initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the actuarial team to deliver high‑quality analyses and actionable insights.
  • Define and implement pricing and risk management strategies to ensure profitability, portfolio growth, and adherence to underwriting rules.
  • Collaborate with IT, Corporate Actuarial, Reinsurance, and branch leadership teams to ensure pricing models and tools support business objectives.
  • Monitor emerging market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to inform actuarial strategies.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of actuarial models, rating tools, and analytics to drive data‑informed decisions.
Business & Strategic Impact
  • As an active member of the Internal Management Committee, partner with senior leadership to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with branch leaders, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure pricing strategies meet market needs.
  • Promote operational excellence by implementing best practices, process improvements, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulations.
Experience / Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the property and casualty insurance industry
  • Proven leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing actuarial teams, driving operational excellence, and supporting business strategy
