JG Contracting is a dynamic and growth-oriented construction firm based in Toronto, specializing in mid- to large-scale commercial and residential projects. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship, fostering strong client relationships, and cultivating a collaborative team culture. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage construction projects from pre-construction through to close-out and handover.
  • Coordinate all project phases, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and on-site execution.
  • Oversee and assist with the bidding process for subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating proposals based on pricing, quality of work, communication, reliability, and speed of delivery.
  • Assess and recommend which subcontractors are best suited for each project to maintain quality and cost control.
  • Work closely with estimators and coordinators to ensure bids align with project goals and timelines.
  • Encourage collaboration with trusted subcontractors, tradespeople, and suppliers, subject to the same bidding and evaluation process to ensure fairness and quality.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Track budgets, manage change orders, and ensure projects stay on time and within scope.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation (drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, progress reports).
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–3 years of experience managing residential or commercial construction projects in the Toronto/GTA area.
  • Proven ability to evaluate subcontractor bids and manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management (experience with Procore or MS Project is an asset).
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • PMP certification or similar training is an asset but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: CAD $80,000 – $90,000 annually, based on experience.
