A veterinary services provider in Brantford is seeking a Veterinary Extern for a unique externship opportunity. This role involves working alongside Associate Veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in clinical operations and patient care over a period of two to eight weeks. Eligible veterinary students may receive a stipend for travel/living expenses during the externship.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical examinations, creating treatment plans, and diagnostic workups.
• Assist with or perform dentistry services, observe or assist surgical procedures, and participate in medical management of patients.
• Develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Duration and Location

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Beattie Pet Hospital - Brantford are designed for clinical year students.

Stipend
