Job summary

The Toronto Humane Society is seeking a Veterinarian to join our caring team in Toronto, Ontario. This role focuses on preventative wellness, surgery, dentistry, or a blend, with opportunities to match to organizational needs through our talent pool.

We offer a competitive base salary of 150,000–180,000 CAD, four 10-hour shifts weekly, and extensive benefits including CE support, RRSP matching, licensing fees paid, and extended health coverage.

Qualifications

  • DVM degree and a valid Ontario veterinary licence in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care through wellness, medical, surgical, and dental services.
  • Practice evidence-based medicine with compassion and resource-conscious decision-making.
  • Support accessible veterinary care that strengthens the human-animal bond and improves animal welfare outcomes.
  • Handle and treat animals using Fear Free, low-stress techniques that prioritise safety, comfort, and wellbeing.
  • Support and mentor veterinary staff, students, and mentees, and contribute to ongoing learning and professional development initiatives.
  • Contribute to a positive client experience through respectful, empathetic, and professional interactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance animal health and welfare outcomes.
