Job summary

GIRO is seeking a procurement/contract management professional to support supplier contract management, renewals, and cost optimization in a Canada-based role. You will collaborate with IT, Security, Finance, and Corporate Affairs to drive compliant, cost-effective contracting processes.

Reporting to the Director, Governance, Compliance and Risk Management, you will contribute to forecasting and supplier performance metrics while promoting an inclusive, growth‑oriented environment at GIRO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • At least five years of procurement, contract management or related experience.
  • Excellent oral and written French and English communication; ability to review English-language documents.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate IT, Security, Finance and Corporate Affairs stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate supplier contract preparation, review, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Lead negotiations on renewals, licenses, service levels, and commercial terms.
  • Identify business, security, compliance or cost issues in contracts and follow up.
  • Contribute to bids and RFPs from requirements through recommendations.
  • Monitor obligations, risks, compliance, and supplier performance.
  • Develop metrics and dashboards on spending, renewals, savings, and optimization.
  • Improve contract management policies, processes, tools and practices.
  • Advise internal teams on procurement, contract management, and supplier relations.
  • Support financial forecasting and track supplier commitments to optimize spending.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION MAKES A POSITIVE IMPACT

Reporting to the Director, Governance, Compliance and Risk Management, you will contribute to supplier and procurement contract management. You will collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to monitor agreements, manage costs and risks, and support the organization’s needs.

  • Coordinate activities related to the preparation, review, negotiation, execution, renewal, and documentation of supplier contracts.
  • Lead negotiations related to renewals, licences, service levels, and commercial terms.
  • Conduct an initial review of contracts, identify business, compliance, security, or cost issues, and coordinate the required follow-ups.
  • Contribute to calls for tenders, requests for proposals, and requests for information, from defining requirements through documenting recommendations.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, risks, compliance, and supplier performance.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and analyses related to spending, renewals, savings, and optimization opportunities.
  • Contribute to improving contract management and procurement policies, processes, tools, and practices.
  • Advise internal teams on procurement, contract management, and supplier relations.
  • Contribute to financial forecasting, track supplier commitments, and identify opportunities to optimize spending.

THE SKILLS THAT WILL MAKE YOU A KEY MEMBER OF OUR TEAM

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, law, finance, procurement, operations management, contract management, or compliance.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in procurement, contract management, supplier management, renewals, licences, commercial negotiations, or calls for tenders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English. Proficiency in English is required to communicate with English-speaking suppliers and partners located outside Quebec and to review, negotiate, and administer contracts and documentation written in English.
  • Sound business judgment, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to understand and analyze commercial contracts.
  • Ability to engage various stakeholders and coordinate matters involving teams such as IT, Security, Finance, and Corporate Affairs.
  • Proficiency in Excel, document management tools, and tracking logs.
  • Any relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
