The Role

The Vehicle Evaluation Specialist will report to the Vehicle Evaluation Manager. They will complete assignments from the Variability Reduction Team manufacturing Co‑Lead for the assigned Variability Reduction team. The analyst will work amongst the product development team members of the assigned VRT to stay apprised of all emerging issues concerning the assigned VRT.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Education:

  • 3‑year college diploma in quality, manufacturing or a related discipline. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)

Experience:

  • 2 years manufacturing and/or quality experience (internship and co‑op experience will be considered).
  • Must be able to work all shifts; days, afternoons, midnights.

Preferred Qualifications :

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.

Experience:

  • Green or Black Belt Six Sigma trained or certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Error Proofing Data Analysis and Interpretation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assist reviewing and binning early claims binning claims and customer concerns with PVT engineers.
  • Support VRT with statistical process control and data analysis.
  • Participate with VRT team to conduct a periodic job observation.
  • Update the status to completion of periodic job observation.
  • Provide external and internal data checks for quality reviews.
  • Maintain health chart schedule and assessments.
  • Maintain and review quality leadership system charts for data accuracy and work group binning.
  • Perform subsystem checks as required.
  • Learning control plan and verify data entry as required into web-based data management.
  • Assemble acceptance criteria visual aids for the VRT.
  • Maintain cycle line lay out indicator mapping with the assistance of the VRT.
  • Update and maintain the Quality Confirmation Map.
  • Apply Quality principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Analyze vehicle root causes, engage in mapping and corrective actions to reduce vehicle inventory.
  • Lead role in resolving assembly concerns.
  • Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices.
  • Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.
