Job summary

Indigo is seeking a motivated Valet Attendant to join our Atlantic Canada team in downtown Halifax. You will greet guests, park and retrieve vehicles, and ensure safe custody of keys while delivering friendly, efficient service.

Must hold a valid Canadian driver's license (class 5) with a clean driving record, and be capable of working outdoors in all weather. Prior valet experience is an asset, as is the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Qualifications

• Valid Canadian driver's license (class 5) with a clean driving abstract.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather.
• Previous valet experience is an asset.
• Minimum of three years driving experience.
• Able to operate a vehicle in confined spaces without damage.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and welcome them to the property.
• Park and retrieve vehicles promptly.
• Operate vehicles safely in confined areas.
• Inspect vehicles for damage prior to taking custody.
• Issue and collect valet tickets.
• Safely custody of keys in locked key box.
• Ensure vehicles are locked after parking.
• Clean the work area and parking area, including key sanitization and litter pickup.
• Answer questions and provide directions to guests.
• Enforce parking regulations and assist guests with parking concerns.
• Process guest transactions, collect payments, and validate tickets.

OPERATIONS:

• Greeting and welcoming guests to the property
• Parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely fashion
• Operating vehicles safely in confined areas and narrow spaces
• Performing accurate inspections of vehicles for damage prior to taking into custody
• Issue and collect valet tickets as required
• Ensuring safe custody of keys in locked key box
• Ensuring vehicles are locked after parking
• Cleaning the work area, and parking area as needed, including key sanitization and litter pick up
• Answering any questions that guests may have (providing directions, etc.)
• Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures
• Conducting parking enforcement throughout the parking lot, including monitoring compliance with parking regulations and addressing unauthorized or improperly parked vehicles in accordance with company policies.
• Processing and handling guest transactions accurately, including collecting payments and validating the tickets.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP:

• Build positive relationships with customers
• Note the nature of complaints received by customers, and actively help develop and suggest solutions
• Communicate verbally with customers and clients in English

REQUIREMENTS:

• A valid Canadian driver's license (class 5) and clean driving abstract
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is an asset
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High level of interpersonal skills, including poise and diplomacy
• Previous valet experience considered an asset
• Good communication skills, both verbally and written
• Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service
• Ability to work with a team
• Able to work outside in all weather (free uniform provided)
• A minimum of three years driving experience
• Able to operate a vehicle in confined spaces without damage
