Job summary

IBM in Markham, Ontario is seeking a UX Designer co‑op for an 8‑month term starting January 2026 or September 2026. You must be enrolled full‑time and intend to return to studies after the term.

You will design and develop web and graphical interfaces, create media to boost engagement, and collaborate with design and development teams. Strong skills in Figma prototyping, UI/UX principles, and user research are essential, along with eligibility to work in Canada for the duration.

Your role and responsibilities

This position resides in Markham, ON and is an 8‑month work term commencing in January 2026 and/or September 2026. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full‑time studies at a post‑secondary institution and will return to full‑time studies upon completion of the work‑term.

As a UX Designer, you will learn and apply skills for designing and developing web and graphical user interfaces, creating media to increase user engagement across several platforms. You will work with graphic design and web development tools and technologies, creating mockups, layouts, icons, tiles, etc., for websites, applications, and social media campaigns.

High School Diploma/GED

Bachelor’s Degree

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. If you are a foreign national from any of the following US sanctioned countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.
