Job description

UX Designer - Open to candidates in or close proximity to Montreal / Canada or US in Eastern Time zone)

GHGSat is a global leader in emissions intelligence, pioneering the use of satellite imagery to monitor and measure greenhouse gas emissions since 2016. By partnering with industry leaders, GHGSat leverages proprietary satellite data, aircraft imagery, and public data to provide unprecedented insights into the global emissions landscape.

We are seeking a UX Designer with 3+ years of experience who’s excited to design products that make complex data simple, clear, and actionable. This role will focus on creating user-centered intuitive solutions for diverse workflows, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and client-facing teams to deliver value to industrial, financial services, and government users.

This is a hands-on design role where you’ll own projects, influence product direction, and see your work directly impact how clients use our data to make smarter decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bring a user-centered lens to everything we build.
  • Design end-to-end user experiences, from sketches and wireframes to polished high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Collaborate with product and client-facing teams to understand user needs, workflows, and pain points and translate them into intuitive workflows.
  • Design experiences that make complex data and workflows simple, clear, and actionable.
  • Test and iterate on designs with stakeholders and gather feedback.
  • Support user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to validate designs.
  • Maintain design consistency through components and design systems.
  • Present design work and rationale clearly to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of professional UX design experience (experience with B2B, SaaS, or enterprise workflows is highly valuable).
  • A portfolio that shows strong interactive, visual design skills and experience designing for complex workflows, ideally in data-rich environments.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, cross-functional startup teams and interacting with client-facing roles.
  • Fluency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision).
  • Strong, clear communicator who can explain design decisions to technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Bonus points: experience with data visualization, geospatial data, or a passion for sustainability/climate tech.

Why Join Us?

  • Your designs will help industries and governments take real steps to manage green house gas emissions.
  • You’ll join a small, mission-driven team where your work has an immediate impact.
  • We value creativity, collaboration, and moving fast.
  • Competitive startup compensation + growth opportunities in a scaling company.
  • Competitive salary + stock options for all full-time employees
  • Full comprehensive benefits
  • Statutory leave + paid time off
  • Flexible work environment
