A leading Canadian university in Alberta is seeking an instructor to teach a course on mental health literacy. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Psychology and have relevant teaching experience. This role focuses on emerging adults and aims to improve mental health awareness in the community. Commitment to equity within the applicant pool is strongly encouraged.
This course will introduce students to mental health literacy and its goals of recognizing, managing, and strengthening mental health while ending stigma. Focusing on emerging adults, the course examines cognitive and socio‑behavioural skills and capacities that contribute to mental health within the broader health spectrum. Students will consider mental health literacy at both individual and community levels. It is not a substitute for counselling and does not qualify students to act as mental health professionals upon completion.
Submit online through the application system. Address materials to Dr. Sybil Geldart, Chair, Psychology Program (Brantford), Wilfrid Laurier University, Brantford, Ontario.
Wilfrid Laurier University welcomes applications from candidates from equity‑deserving groups. Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQ+, persons with disabilities, and other under‑represented groups are encouraged to apply. Canadians and permanent residents have priority. All applicants must demonstrate legal ability to work in Canada.
