Responsibilities

  • Maintain standard levels of vegetation around utility poles.
  • Apply herbicides to control weeds and grasses.
  • Use equipment to maintain appropriate levels of vegetation.
  • Collect data to monitor invasive species.
  • Maintain and operate tools and equipment like chainsaws and chippers.

Skills

Love of the outdoors
Ability to complete Electrical Hazard Awareness Program and OSHA training
Valid driver’s license
Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
Vegetation control experience
Relevant pesticide licenses, if required by state law
ISA Certified Arborist®
ISA Certified Tree Worker®
TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®

Qualifications
What We’re Seeking :
  • Love of the outdoors
  • Ability to complete Electrical Hazard Awareness Program and OSHA training
  • Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
  • Required : valid driver’s license
  • Preferred : Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
  • Preferred : vegetation control experience or other related work
  • Preferred : relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
  • Preferred : ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and / or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
Responsibilities
  • Maintain standard levels of vegetation in the area surrounding utility poles by :
  • Applying herbicides to control weeds and grasses
  • Using equipment to maintain appropriate levels of vegetation
  • Following contracts for work requirements and job specifications
  • Collect data to monitor and manage levels of invasive species of vegetation
  • Properly maintain, calibrate, and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
