Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility Operator for a major civil earthworks project in remote Northern Saskatchewan.

You will operate a range of heavy equipment to support site development, mass excavation, grading and pad construction while maintaining safety at all times. The role requires reading site plans, following grade stakes and collaborating with supervisors and survey teams to hit targets.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience operating multiple heavy equipment types in construction/mining/earthworks.
  • Experience on excavators, dozers, graders or loaders.
  • Ability to read and follow site plans, grade stakes and layouts.
  • Experience using GPS machine control systems preferred.
  • Grade control experience on excavators, dozers and graders is an asset.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Valid driver's license and 3 years driving abstract.
  • CSTS-2020 Fundamentals ticket.
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification.

  • Maintain awareness of construction hazards and site risk.
  • Adhere to Ledcor safety policies, procedures and site rules.

Description

Are you an experienced Utility Operator looking to join a major civil earthworks project in remote Northern Saskatchewan. Successful candidates will operate a variety of heavy equipment in support of site development, mass excavation, grading, pad construction, and related earthworks activities.


The ideal candidate is a safe, productive, and versatile operator with experience on multiple types of heavy equipment. Experience with GPS machine control and grade control systems is considered an asset but is not essential.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Safely operate heavy equipment in accordance with project requirements and Ledcor safety standards

  • Perform excavation, grading, loading, material handling, and earthmoving activities

  • Operate: Excavators (25T, 35T, and 60T), Dozers (D6), Graders (16M) Loaders (950/966)

  • Complete pre-trip inspections and daily equipment reports

  • Work closely with supervisors, survey teams, and other operators to achieve production and quality targets

  • Maintain awareness of construction hazards

  • Adhere to all Ledcor and project safety policies, procedures, and site requirements



Qualifications


  • 3+ years experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment in a construction, mining, or earthworks environment

  • Proven operating experience on excavators, dozers, graders or loaders

  • Ability to read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and construction layouts

  • Experience using GPS machine control systems and without is preferred

  • Grade control experience on excavators, dozers, and graders is considered an asset

  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

  • Valid driver's license and 3 years drivers abstract

  • CSTS-2020 Fundamentals ticket

  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification

  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing



Work Conditions


  • 14 days on / 7 days off rotational schedule

  • Camp accommodation provided
