Job summary

CNUC of Canada, a unit within Wright Canada Holdings, is hiring a Utility Forestry Technician for year‑round work in Canada. The role involves inspecting and reporting vegetation along power line corridors, coordinating with landowners, and ensuring safety for all workers and the public.

Expect a 4 days on / 3 days off schedule with a pay rate of $250–$300 per day, plus benefits including medical and dental coverage and potential employee ownership.

Qualifications

• Integrated Resource Management diploma, Forestry Resource Technology diploma, and/or BSc in Forestry.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Drivers Abstract with less than 6 demerits.
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to identify, inspect, and report trees and brush along power line corridors.
• Must communicate clearly with stakeholders to ensure service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Identify, inspect, and report trees and brush along power line corridors.
• Consult with landowners and stakeholders for access and consent.
• Perform QA/QC audits and inspections per client requirements.
• Discuss access issues with stakeholders and property owners.
• Ensure safety of employees and the public; enforce safety practices.
• Carry and use materials, tools and equipment at the work site.
• Service trucks and equipment; keep equipment orderly; report repairs.

Pay & Working Conditions:

Pay rate of $250- $300 per day, paid hourly. We provide ALL equipment needed except your CSA Certified Work Boots. Working shifts of 4 days on and 3 days off. Year-round employment, not seasonal work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identification, inspection, and reporting of trees and brush along power line corridors.
• Consultation and consenting with landowners and/or stakeholders.
• Complete quality assurance and quality control auditing, inspections, and compliance based on client requirements.
• Discuss and negotiate access issues with stakeholders/property owners.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
• Help enforce on-the-job safety practices.
• Carry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment at the work site.
• Service trucks and equipment.
• Keep trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Report the need for equipment and truck repairs to the supervisor.
• Uphold CNUC core values and maintain a positive work environment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience and Knowledge Expectations:

• Integrated Resource Management diploma, Forestry Resource Technology diploma, and/or BSc in Forestry and/or one or more years of Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) field-related experience.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Drivers Abstract with less than 6 demerits.
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Identification, inspection, and reporting of trees and brush along power line corridors.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
• Must have organizational and prioritization skills.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with various stakeholders, including home/ land owners, contractors, and other team members, to ensure proper service delivery and clear reports.
