About the role: Utility Field Service Electrician, Commercial

As a Utility Field Service Electrician at Tesla, you will perform preventive maintenance on commercial and utility battery energy storage systems to maintain warranty coverage. Your responsibilities will include responding to corrective maintenance cases, troubleshooting power electronics, and supporting Tesla’s Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team.

You’ll work closely with Field Service Technicians, Environment and Operations personnel, and Field Service Leadership teams to ensure Tesla’s energy products operate efficiently. This role requires hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, and a commitment to providing an outstanding customer experience.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid Journeyperson Electrician card with Red Seal endorsement.
• Electrical trades experience with power electronics and low voltage controls.
• Proficiency in using power tools, electrical equipment, isolation meters, and multimeters.
• Ability to navigate CEC codes, CSA Z462 practices, and various computer applications independently.
• Flexibility to travel up to 2 weeks at a time, with short notice, including weekends and overtime.
• Physical ability to work at great heights, in extreme environments, and lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with solar PV systems, battery storage, or EV charging stations is a plus.
• Certifications in renewable energy, solar electric design, and familiarity with programming languages and equipment networking.
