Job summary

Leclerc Biscuits in Brockville is seeking a Utilities/Facilities Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will maintain boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC, chillers, pumps and water systems, ensuring reliability of plant utilities.

Responsibilities include developing preventive maintenance programs, SOPs and checklists; coordinating with operations; leading maintenance planning and continuous improvement while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in facilities or utilities.
• Proven troubleshooting and repair skills for water and steam systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong computer skills and experience with computerized maintenance systems.
• Flexible to respond to on-call and emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Develop preventative maintenance programs, checklists and SOPs.
• Lead maintenance planning, schedules and ongoing improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Operate and monitor HVAC, boilers, chilled water, and domestic water systems.
• Utilize PLCs and analog controls; monitor pressures, temperatures, flows.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Record operational data and drive continuous improvement.

Position Summary

Biscuits Leclerc Brockville plant is looking for Utilities / Facilities maintenance technician. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate technical skills maintaining utility equipment including boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC, chillers, pumps and valves (including RVs), and water systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations and maintenance personnel to minimize downtime.
• Ensure the preventative maintenance program is developed and followed.
• Develop checklists, inspection plans and SOPs as applicable to the work.
• Develop, communicate and Implement maintenance procedures and troubleshooting guidelines to support consistency and efficiency.
• Supervise all equipment rebuilds, develop specifications, implement tracking methods and monitor quality control
• Troubleshooting issues and correcting where applicable
• Operating power equipment like:
• Heating and air conditioning HVAC
• Boilers, chilled water system, heating, and domestic hot water systems auxiliary equipment
• Offer technical expertise and direction on breakdowns when required
• Routine checks and monitoring, pressures temps, flows
• Utilizing PLC’s and analog controls
• Follow safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, guarding, etc)
• Lead the development of maintenance programs and work schedules as required
• Analyzes and record operational documentation and metrics
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Adheres to all regulatory and company standards

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in maintenance and utilities/facilities operation
• Operating Engineer 3 rd or 4 th class or technical associate degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, repair skills for water and steam
• Experience in the use of computerized systems and good computer skills
• Good interpersonal skills, demonstrates initiative, team player, results oriented, self-motivated, and good planning and organizing skills.
• Must be flexible to respond to on call and emergency repairs as required outside of the normal shift coverage.
