The Organization and Position

Located in Montreal, our client is a growing technology company with 25 employees, growing fast, and looking for a passionate senior Human Resources professional with extensive experience in the Quebec market to assist them in building a workplace where people love to work and flourish.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record of building HR processes from the ground up to shape how our client team works, grows, and supports their people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and manage the full hire‑to‑retire process, introducing standards and best practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
  • The go‑to person for all things HR, from hiring and onboarding to performance, culture, and off‑boarding.
  • Build and keep our policies and processes smart, simple, and compliant with Quebec labour standards.
  • Assist managers and employees in navigating complex situations with empathy and fairness.
  • Provide input in our payroll and benefits programs (working with our finance team support).
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal labor laws.
  • Drive initiatives in learning, growth, and employee engagement.
  • Available 10 hours a week, 75% remote, 25% occasional team meeting. The Position requires more hours in the first one to two months to help review and set up the process, employee manuals, policies, and procedures.
Skills and Requirements
  • 10+ years of hands‑on HR experience (senior generalist or manager‑level).
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Quebec labour standards and HR compliance.
  • Fully Bilingual, with great communication skills both in English and French.
  • Trusted advisor, approachable, clear, and empathetic.
  • Highly motivated and able to bring in strong teamwork and motivation to the team.
  • Very comfortable juggling between various tasks and projects while working independently.
  • HR certification (CHRP, SHRM, CIPD, etc.) is a plus but not required.
