Position: Senior Azure Logic Apps Integration Architect
Position Type: Contract
No. of Positions: 2
Location: Canada (REMOTE)
Description
This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on Senior Azure Integration Architect who specializes in Azure Logic Apps and the surrounding Azure integration stack. You’ll design, build, and govern enterprise‑grade integrations—primarily API‑ and event‑driven—connecting ERP (with light familiarity in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations), CRM/Dataverse, and third‑party systems. This role blends architecture, development, and enablement: you’ll define standards, ship reliable integrations, and coach teams to do the same.
Responsibilities
- Own integration architecture: Define patterns for synchronous APIs, async/event flows, batching, idempotency, retries, DLQs, and resiliency (Standard vs. Consumption plans, single‑tenant, VNET integration).
- Design & deliver Logic Apps: Build workflows using connectors, custom connectors, webhook triggers, and managed identities; enforce exception handling, compensating actions, and observability.
- API management: Front services with Azure API Management (policies, throttling, versioning, OAuth2/JWT validation, client certs).
- Eventing & messaging: Model events and commands using Event Grid, Service Bus (topics/queues, sessions), storage queues, and durable timers.
- Security‑first delivery: Apply Zero Trust; use Key Vault, private endpoints, VNETs, IP restrictions, RBAC/PIM; protect secrets and PII; audit access.
- IaC & CI/CD: Template and promote environments with Bicep/ARM/Terraform; build release pipelines with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions; parameterize configs per environment; blue/green and canary patterns.
- Observability: Instrument with Application Insights, Log Analytics, and distributed tracing; define SLOs, alerts, dashboards, and runbooks.
- D365 F&O familiarity (nice‑to‑have): Consume Business Events, call OData/Custom services, work with Recurring Integrations, DMF packages, and understand batch job behaviors & throttling.
- Standards & governance: Establish naming, versioning, error schemas, correlation IDs, and re‑usable connectors; run design reviews and threat modeling.
- Coach & collaborate: Partner with product, ERP, and data teams; conduct code reviews; mentor developers.
Must‑have qualifications
- 8+ years building integrations on Azure; 4+ years deep with Logic Apps (Standard & Consumption) in production.
- Strong Azure fundamentals: API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault, Storage, App Service/Functions.
- Proven CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; Infrastructure as Code with Bicep/ARM (Terraform nice‑to‑have).
- Solid .NET/JavaScript/PowerShell for custom connectors, scripts, and utilities (C# preferred).
- Observability mindset with App Insights, KQL, and actionable alerting.
- Architectural thinking: domain boundaries, contract‑first design, API and event versioning, and non‑functional requirements (latency, throughput, RTO/RPO).
Nice‑to‑have
- Exposure to D365 F&O integration points (Business Events, OData/Custom Services, Recurring Integrations, DMF, security/roles). Dataverse/Power Platform (custom connectors, Power Automate vs. Logic Apps decisioning).
Success looks like (first month)
- Understand the current state of many logic apps developed by the client, map inefficiencies, and propose standardization and optimization recommendations
- Work with a Project manager to break down development fixes for issues observed
