Job Description: Nanny–Housekeeper–Cook (Family Assistant)

Hours: 6 hours / day, Monday–Friday (approximately 12pm–6pm or 1pm–7pm)

Location: London, Ontario

Start Date: Late January / Early February (flexible)

About Our Family

We are a busy household expecting a newborn at the end of January, with a 4-year-old in school full-time. We are looking for a warm, reliable, and organized Nanny–Housekeeper–Cook to support our family during this transition. This hybrid role blends childcare, household support, and daily meal preparation, with a focus on the after‑school and early‑evening period when the home is busiest. The husband runs a medical practice.

Position Summary

The position includes responsibilities in three main areas:

1. Childcare (Primary Need: Afternoons & After School)
  • School pickup for our 4‑year‑old
  • Preparing after‑school snacks
  • Engaging in age‑appropriate activities (reading, crafts, playtime)
  • Supporting daily routines
  • Assisting with both the newborn and 4‑year‑old when needed
  • Occasional early‑evening support with bath or bedtime (optional)
2. Housekeeping (Daily Upkeep)

This is not a deep‑cleaning position. It focuses on daily maintenance tasks that keep the home running smoothly.

  • Tidying and organizing main living areas
  • Light kitchen cleaning and countertop wipe‑downs
  • Daily laundry for the family
  • Organizing toys, baby items, and household supplies
  • Light sweeping or vacuuming of high‑traffic areas
  • Resetting the home for the next morning
  • Occasional errands, if required and agreed upon
3. Cooking / Meal Preparation
  • Preparing or pre‑cooking dinner for the family
  • Preparing lunches and snacks for school
  • Simple, healthy meal planning
  • Grocery shopping or placing online orders
  • Preparing snacks or meals for the next day
  • Cleaning the kitchen after meal prep

Comfort and confidence with cooking is an important part of this role.

Hours and Schedule

Approximately 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Ideal time blocks include:
  • 12:00pm–6:00pm
  • 1:00pm–7:00pm

These hours cover mid‑day housekeeping, school pickup, dinner preparation, lunch prep for school, and afternoon / evening childcare support.
