BrokerLink Inc. is hiring an Underwriter II, Specialty Solutions, to join our growing team in Canada. You will analyze quotes, renewals and policy changes, support brokers on underwriting policies and maintain strong relationships through skilled negotiation.

You will participate in broker visits and marketing events, contribute to department expansion and process improvements, and prepare quotes for new business and renewals while handling endorsements and cancellations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset.
• Analytical, self-motivated and able to deliver high standard.
• Initiative and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong team player with outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
• CIP designation or working towards it.

Responsabilités

• Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes and recommend solutions.
• Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies.
• Use negotiating skills to maintain relationships within and outside the company.
• Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events.
• Provide ongoing support in expanding the department and suggest process improvements.
• Rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals.
• Handle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations.
• Generate letters and memos to brokers from the system as directed.
• Support Specialty Solutions and other divisions as needed.

Salary range (but not limited to): 74,800 - 91,400

Incentive plan Annual bonus: 7.5% target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to 200% (subject to personal and company performance)

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, location etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We’re looking for an Underwriter II, Specialty Solutions, to join our growing team!

What you’ll do here:

• Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend solutions
• Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies
• Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company
• Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events
• Provide ongoing support in expanding the department, and make recommendations for process improvements
• Rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals
• Handle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations.
• As directed, generate letters and memos to brokers from the system.
• Support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact

What you bring to the table:

• University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset
• Analytical, self-motivated and strive to deliver at a high standard
• Initiative and ability to work under pressure
• Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills
• Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers
• Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry
• CIP designation or working towards it
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
• This position will fill an essential role in our team.
