The Sovereign General Insurance Company is looking for a dynamic individual to join its commercial auto underwriting team in Montreal. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in fleet and garage policy management, as well as medium to large accounts. He will demonstrate a strong ability to analyze risks and propose innovative solutions to brokers. With a sense of influence and inspiring enthusiasm, he will be able to mobilize others while providing exceptional client service within the broker network.

How you will create impact:
  • Promoting, underwriting and quoting new business, renewals and endorsements in accordance with the company’s underwriting philosophy, rating, loss ratio objectives, service standards and authority levels.
  • Negotiating coverage and rates with brokers.
  • Completing necessary documentation in support of the business you handle.
  • Establish and maintain positive, constructive relationships with brokers through regular in‑person meetings aimed at creating new business opportunities.
  • Be driven by the desire to achieve results that directly contribute to the company’s objectives.
  • Deliver high‑quality results that contribute to the profitability of our portfolio and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
To join our team:
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in commercial auto insurance underwriting, particularly in fleet, garage and carrier policies.
  • Knowledge of other province regulations is an asset.
  • Have obtained or are in the process of obtaining the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is a strong asset.
  • This position primarily works with majority non‑francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non‑French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
