Unit 22 is an acute inpatient Cardiology/Telemetry Unit where a candidate with experience and skill can manage a population of complex, unpredictable, and unstable patients. The preferred Registered Nurse for this unit is one who has a strong interest in patients requiring cardiac-related nursing care and who can work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to provide family-focused care. We are actively building our Cardiac Unit for a future filled with growth, innovation, and opportunity. This is an exciting time to join our team, as we expand and evolve to meet the increasing needs of our community. Nurses joining Unit 22 will not only gain valuable experience in acute cardiac care but will also have the opportunity to grow into our developing cardiac program—including future opportunities within the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Required Qualifications
  • Current enrolment in an approved Alberta nursing education program leading to initial entry to practice as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse.
  • Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate.
  • Successful completion of 3rd year of an RN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RN education program; or currently in the final year of an after‑degree RN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RN education program; or successful completion of 2nd year of an RPN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RPN education program.
