About Sonele Inc.

Sonele Inc. designs and manufactures advanced ultrasound transducers and associated electronics. Our multidisciplinary team integrates acoustic design, simulation, and precision manufacturing to deliver imaging and therapeutic solutions.

Role Summary

The Ultrasound Transducer Developer designs, simulates, prototypes, and characterizes transducers (single‑element, linear arrays, and 2D arrays). The role spans acoustic stack design, FEM modeling, build/test, and design transfer in close collaboration with process engineering and electronics teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own acoustic/mechanical/electrical design of transducers; optimize stacks (backing, matching, kerf/composite, housing) to meet performance targets.
  • Perform FEM/acoustic simulations (e.g., OnScale, COMSOL, ANSYS, PZFlex); analyze trade‑offs and correlate models with experimental data.
  • Plan and execute prototype builds; conduct characterization (impedance analysis, beam profiles, hydrophone measurements, insertion loss/bandwidth) and document results.
  • Define design inputs/outputs, specifications, and test methods; contribute to verification/validation and design history documentation under ISO 13485.
  • Collaborate with process/manufacturing on fixturing, tolerances, and DFM; support transfer to pilot/production.
  • Evaluate materials and novel fabrication techniques; contribute to IP strategy and technology roadmaps.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physics, Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering (acoustics/ultrasound focus preferred).
  • ~3–7+ years’ experience in ultrasound transducer R&D (imaging, therapy, or NDT).
  • Proficiency with FEM/acoustic simulation tools (OnScale, COMSOL, ANSYS, PZFlex) and data analysis (MATLAB, Python, MATHCAD).
  • Hands‑on experience with prototype builds, acoustic lab equipment, and transducer testing/characterization.
  • Knowledge of piezoelectric materials (ceramics/single crystal), matching/backing materials, adhesives, and packaging.
  • Strong documentation, cross‑functional collaboration, and communication skills.
Why Join Sonele
