Job summary

William Osler Health System in Brampton, Ontario seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures, provide high-quality imaging, and support radiologists with preliminary impressions.

The ideal candidate is CM RITO registered with CRGS Abdomen/OB-GYN, ARDMS may be considered, and strong communication and teamwork skills are essential; travel between Osler sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology.
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required.
• Sonography Canada (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference for RVT/CRVS or eligibility within six months.
• ARDMS certification may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
• Provide radiologists with high-quality imaging and preliminary impressions.
• Adhere to hospital policies and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Travel between Osler sites may be required.

Job Description

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and/or treatment
• Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Adhere to organization mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Provide radiologists with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary
• Perform other duties related to the job classification as required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required
• Sonography Canada (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with Sonography Canada within six months of the date of hire
• Candidates with ARDMS certification may be considered
• Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, paediatric, breast, vascular and musculoskeletal preferred
• FMF NT certification an asset
• Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Physical ability to perform the expected job dutiesDemonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities
• Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships and provide effective consultation with the clinical educators
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Additional Information

Hours: Currently Days/Evenings/Nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary

• Minimum: $36.84 per hour
• Maximum: $51.76 per hour
